1) Pick three camera shots from the Doctor Who scene and explain what type of shot it is and what meanings or effect they have on the audience.
A medium close up is used to show urgency and emotions when the lady is saying "forget about the key and that's an order". The shot helps us understand how serious the topic is and how important what she is saying is. it also lets us see her face more closely which lets us see her facial expressions and understand the situation.
There are a lot of extreme close ups on devices and screens to help us show what their job is and what they are trying to do. It also displays urgency. It also lets us see that they have completed the task they set out to do and that they have done something that might save the world.
2) Pick one camera angle that is used in the scene and explain the effect it has on the audience.
A high angle is used to show the height of the machine. It also lets you see how tall it is in comparison to the people which makes it seem powerful and important. It makes what they are working on seem like a really big deal and really serious.
3) Pick one aspect of mise-en-scene from the scene and explain what connotations are being communicated to the audience.
They use lighting to show contrast as the whole of the clip is very dimly lit to show the difference between the beginning and the end as at the end there is a large flash of light when the machine starts working to show the task have been completed. It might also show that evil was winning but once that start5ed working good prevailed.
